Arrived at 2 and headed down to the far corner as I knew the tide was on its way up. A very small tidal range today.

A couple of familiar faces reported choppy conditions and strong wind. Miles was using a 4.2. I rigged my only option - 4.7 and downhauled all the juice out of it. Carrying the board to the beach was hard enough but once launched the real trouble started. I could have done with a warm up but it was in at the deep end. On the plus side there was no question of getting planing. The first few corners were wet ones but after a while it started to come together and I was just glad to be able to handle it. Things continued with the swell building until I called it a day at 5 o'clock or so.
